Get to know a little bit more about our one-of-a-kind staff by reading some of their biographies below:
Karla, was born and raised in Okinawa, Japan and moved to San Antonio in 1997. She earned her BA in Criminal Justice at The University of Texas in San Antonio in 2003 and her BS in Dental Hygiene at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio-Dental School in 2015. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association, and San Antonio District Dental Hygienists’ Society.
Patient education is important to Karla, as she wants her patients to feel empowered and motivated to maintain their oral health. She strives to provide a comfortable and positive dental experience for her patients through her friendly and gentle approach, which has been particularly helpful for patients who have dental anxiety.
When Karla is not at the dental office trying to convince patients to floss, you will most likely find Karla cheering on her two children at the soccer fields. She also serves on the board of the youth soccer organization. Karla volunteers annually at the Smiles of Hope event providing free preventive and therapeutic treatments to the under served residents in Bexar County at the San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic.
Stephanie is Texas native, grew up in West Texas and moved to San Antonio in 2001. She had braces for 3 years and during her orthodontic journey she discovered her love for Dentistry.
After high school, Stephanie pursued her new passion and became a registered dental assistant. With nearly 10 years in the dental field, she brings a broad range of experience to our office. As patient Coordinator, she works closely with the patients, helping them with their treatment plans. She loves every moment of it!
Outside of the office Stephanie keeps active with her 2-year-old little girl. Their days are often filled with zoo trips, nature walks, exploring new playgrounds and some days just relaxing at home.
Maggie grew up just up the road in Boerne, Texas. When she was a senior in high school she got an after-school job helping out in a dental office, that’s when she recognized her passion for dentistry. She has worked as a dental assistant and in the front office, helping people with their smiles, ever since.
Her husband, Rocky, is from San Antonio and is a Master Electrician. They have two children Jude, 7 and Cora, 4. As a family they love to go camping and enjoy the outdoors.
Kim is the newest addition to our Dominion team this July. Kim has been in the dental field for 6 years after graduating from Kaplan College. She has been a stay at home mom for the last 18 months to boy, Girl twins along with her 5-year-old daughter. She has fallen in love with the office, staff, and most of all the patients. She enjoys getting to meet new people and building trust and relationships with her patients. She has made it her goal to help patients get past any anxiety and fear that comes with coming to the dentist. Whether it’s making you laugh or just walking you through your visit, she is going to do it with a big smile while delivering amazing dental care.
Lauren was born and raised in Houston Texas. She is married to a military officer and they have 3 children. The military is what brought her to San Antonio, TX.
She has been in the dental field since 2006, where she started as an appointment coordinator. In 2010 she graduated from Kaplan College as a registered dental assistant. From the moment she started in the dental field, she loved it.
One of the things that is important to Lauren is making her patients feel at ease as much as possible. She likes to help her patient as much as she can, from helping them understand their dental insurance to any treatment that they may need to be done. She also helps them feel calm once treatment is being done. She is happiest when her patients are happy and ready to return.
